Every bespoke commission begins with a conversation. Sometimes it starts with an inherited gemstone, sometimes with a sketch, and sometimes simply with an idea. Each piece is individually designed and handcrafted to tell its owner's story. The commissions below show how those ideas became finished jewels.
Designed around an exceptional sapphire selected by the client, this bespoke ring combines flowing hand-carved gold scrollwork with brilliant-cut diamonds to create a unique piece that could never have been bought from a display cabinet. Every detail was individually designed and handcrafted.
These diamonds were simply too beautiful to leave behind. I discovered the yellow marquise-cut centre stone and its two pink diamond companions at a trade show in Basel, and designed the ring especially to bring their colours and shapes together. This is the finished result.
A client had seen a similar ring in my collection but wanted it set with a yellow sapphire. After viewing a selection of stones, she chose this beautiful marquise-cut sapphire, which I paired with two pear-shaped white diamonds on the shoulders. The ring was made in 18-carat yellow gold, and I'm pleased to say she was absolutely delighted.
A design by a recent Birmingham School of Jewellery graduate, developed in my workshop into a collection of pendant, ring and earrings featuring trilliant-cut tanzanites and princess-cut diamonds.
A valued client wanted to commission a ruby heart pendant for his wife, but he was keen to avoid the obvious single heart-shaped gemstone. Instead, he suggested using two pear-shaped rubies to create the outline of a heart. I developed the design from that inspired idea, producing this elegant and distinctive pendant.
